WHO CAN BE A PART OF THE TEAM?
The swim team is for residents of the East Lake Village Community Association. Non-Residents may also join as guests of an ELVCA Resident. Swimmers need to be between the ages of 5 - 18 and meet the minimum ability requirement.
HOW DO I START?
Start by e-mail Coach Devon. It is best to give the age and general ability of your swimmer. Coach Devon will respond with more specific information as to how to register and when you can go to the pool for an evaluation.
TRYING-OUT
On your first day, swimmers should bring goggles and be prepared to get in and practice with other swimmers. Swimmers will be asked to get in the water on their own, and swim 25 yards continuously, doing some version of freestyle. If successful coaches will work with the swimmers to help them learn and understand how practices are run. During this first day, coaches will evaluate the swimmer to decide which group will be the best fit. All swimmers are placed into groups based on their age and ability level.
HOW LONG DO I GET TO DECIDE?
When an athlete starts, we will collect the forms and the SCS Registration check. However, once you start, you have a week to decide if you would like to continue. If so, we then will process your payments. If after a week you decide that the swim team is not for you, you will receive a full refund of your payments.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Families pay monthly dues for the opportunity to participate in as many practices as they like. Swimmers are not required to attend practices, but must attend to the practice group they are assigned to.
Monthly Dues: $120 for the 1st Swimmer, $100 for the 2nd Swimmer, $80 for all others.
REQUIRED REGISTRATION FEES
These fees are collected each season and are non-refundable after the first week of participation.
USA Swimming - $38 a season, per swimmer
ELVCA Family Registration Fee - $50
OPTIONAL PARTICIPATION FEES
Additional participation fees if swimmers participate in scheduled swim meets. Meet fees vary depending on the type of meet.
